At Discovery Kids Dental we accept patients covered by Medicaid. Medicaid covers dental services for all children enrolled as part of a comprehensive set of benefits. This is commonly referred to as the Early and Periodic Screening, Diagnostic and Treatment (EPSDT) benefit.
How Does a Kid’s Dental Medicaid Plan Work?
Medicaid covers the following services for children:
- Preventative services, including exams, cleanings, x-rays, sealants, space maintainers, and fluoride treatments.
- Restorative procedures including fillings, crowns, root canals, gum, and oral surgery procedures.
For certain procedures, the dentist may have to obtain approval from Medicaid before providing these services.
Discovery Kids Pediatric Dentistry accepts both Medicaid and CHP+ Dentaquest plans (note that your insurance card for both should say “Colorado Access”). Medicaid patients do not have a copayment, but CHP+ Dentaquest patients have a small copayment for anything other than preventative or diagnostic care. CHP+ Dentaquest patients also have $1,000 per calendar year to use on all dental services.
